Even though I did finish (with a good deal of skim reading in the second half) Anna Karenina I can firmly say that I despise Russian literature. Why that book is a classic is beyond me! But I am willing to give the following classics a try. I have them stacked on my night table reading to go!

Let me know how it goes! I've read one Jane Austen one but for the life of me can't think which one. I loved it! So I tried another and couldn't get past the first couple pages. It was just too thickly stuffed with politeness.
I have the Wuthering Heights in my pile as well. We'll have to compare notes!
I have Anna and War & Peace but don't see either of them being read any time soon. Moll Flanders is on my list to read also. Whenever I get my reading mojo back! LOL
I'll pass on those.
I think you will find the change of pace refreshing. I was just talking to another friend the other day about Anna Karenina. She, too, is struggling through the darkness and we discussed the unknown reason why it is a classic. It might be an interesting book to take a course about, to find out why it is so highly acclaimed. On the other hand, that is more months of reading A.K. Instead, maybe I'll just do a little Wikipedia search. That should turn up something.
Anyway, good luck on your new reading track! I hope it's better and brighter than what you recently experienced.
dare I say that I haven't read any of those?
