Island Bikers

Keith and I invested in a bike carrier and tow hitch this spring so we could get out and about with our bikes to more places.  Today was the perfect day to test it out and we headed to Barnston Island.

It's a 30 minute drive from home.

The sun was warm but there was a lovely breeze that kept it from getting hot.
The free inland ferry works all day and it's easy peasy to use.
Liam wasn't sure what this was all about but he was up for the adventure.

There were blackberries everywhere and since there is little traffic on the island they were quite clean for eating straight off the bush.
After biking 8 kms or so we came to Roberts Point to have cookies and water.
It's a very quiet island with farms, cows, horses and that's about it.  Beautiful views in every direction.
We had a very nice afternoon and Liam did bike the whole 9.8 kms without much complaining at all.  For us this means success!  It's a great family bike ride...I recommend it.

What a great way to spend the day! Last time I was there, we walked the whole thing!
