OUCH!!! While I grew up mowing lawns and don't really mind doing it, I must admit that I'm not really sad when the people I'm house sitting for tell me I don't need to worry about the yardwork. I know some people find it relaxing, but I'm not a gardener by ANY means. I do like to look at a nice, manicured lawn though.
I am laughing at the thought of wearing shorts! I did break out the capri pants though...definitely warm enough for that. I like yard work. I like to think of it as a double benefit. You get a workout and your yard looks nice.

That's a doozy of a scratch! I guess it's the price one pays to have a well groomed yard. :)
