Removing the old flimsy shelving. They were not strong or deep enough for anything bigger than a shoebox.
It had to all come out so it could go back in properly! Keith found six boxes of his that he hadn't unpacked from the move. This will be his next project :)
All those shoe boxes contain every card received by myself or the family. I can't throw away greeting cards for some reason! I also have a large box of 'Seventeen' magazines that I have kept over the years. I think they will be amusing to look at in about 20 years or so!
And the finished shelfing unit. It's sturdy and organized and just what that room needed!
And this is what the boys have been doing. As a result of clearing out the 'stuff' we discovered my long kept tube of Doodle Art posters. I love coloring and bought out all the Doodle Art from a local hobby shop when it was closing down eons ago. I don't know if you can even buy the original Doodle Art anymore. So I checked out the contents of the tube to find one blank poster left. Yippee....the boys (and the big boy) are having a great deal of fun coloring!!!

Nice shelves! I'm impressed Keith.
Good work Keith!
What's not to love about an organized storage room!!
Doodle Art, what a fun rainy day activity!!
Vicki was looking for a non velvet doodle art and they are very hard to find!
I guess those shelves saved you from having to buy a bigger house.
Maybe those Seventeen magazines will be worth something someday. :) The shelves look great.
Michael's has non-velvet doodle art but they are not 'real' doodle art. They are by RoseArt.
The posters were pretty nice though.
The seventeen mags won't be worth a cent. So many pages are missing out of them because I would rip out the nice pictures and tape them up all over my walls!
Looks good!
I love the doodle art too! I wonder if you can order them on-line?
love those posters!
great shelves, we have similar ones in our garage lol
i can't throw cards out either. i still have all our extra wedding invitations; no idea what i'll do with them but i can't throw them out
and you've been tagged on my blog :)
Ahhhhhhhhh, Doodle Art.....such fond memories at the dining room table.......
Doodle art! I loved the old doodle art posters! The ones you buy now are lousy quality and not worth buying in my estimation. Plus they come with only 5 colors. Highly disappointing. But I suppose most kids today colour on the computer instead of with real felts. Nice to seem them all hard at it. Great family time.
Seeing that Doodle Art makes me feel like coloring.
Keith did a great job on the shelves!
I want to be colouring, too! Look at those gorgeous markers!
hooray for handymen!!
I was wondering what was in all those shoe boxes :)
Great shelves, fabulous organization and super-fun colouring...January is a good month!
Ohhh how I wish I had a basement like that! Basements are very rare in FL (although we had one in our farm growing up). And I also wish I had some Doodle Art, that looks like a BLAST!
Very fun. Always loved Doodle Art ... and Seventeen magazines. :)
