Today we (Keith) planted a tree. We bought a Robinia pseudoacacia 'frisia'. Yes....I bet you know exactly what I am talking about! It's common name is a locust tree. It's got beautiful foliage and grows to be 600 cm. Not sure if we'll live here long enough to see it's full maturity but who knows what the future will hold!
This is precisely what Chad thinks of yard work....or hard work of any kind!

I'm with ya Chad!!
Now if only I could bare my belly to the sun :)
I am sure your tree will be the perfect addition to your yard!
Did you buy any other flowers or anything?!?
Hey Rachel,
We bought a very similar tree 1.5 years ago, after much agonizing over what our front yard tree would look like. Ours is a robinia tortuosa, or twisted black locust. It grows fast! You'll definitely see some height on your after the first year. We're into our third season with ours and we can see the top from our living room window now. It was big enough to fit in our Escape when we brought it home. Definitely a fast grower, but not crazy. Haven't seen any flowers yet, I'm hoping this is the year. Isn't home ownership great?
Don't buy annuals yet - we're still at risk for frost for another 3 weeks or so, no matter what the stores try to sell you. Perennials are good to go though.
Chad is not afraid of work. He can fall asleep beside it. It must be genetic. (Skipped a generation.)
Good to hear from you Rebecca! Now I could have used the advice on the annuals last week when I bought a tray of pansies :) They were so pretty I could not resist. I hope they hold up!
Very nice! It's so fun to watch you work in your yard :)
Way to go Chad...save a spot for me!
There is something very theraputic about planting a tree, especially a pretty one!
That is a pretty tree. We have some of those in our neighbourhood here. I love the white flowers they produce. Good choice!
I love trees! We only have one little plum tree on our property, but when we move to our new property I'm going to plant loads of trees (We already planted 6 little trees on it last year! Woo-hoo!)
That's hilarious!
