Boob Talk

I want to nurse our new baby. Nursing was quite a struggle with Nathan and Chad. I had a very low milk supply and endless frustration with hungry crying babies and supplementing. I eventually gave up at around 10 weeks for Nate and 8 weeks with Chad.
To my female readers....any of you had struggles with nursing?
Kristin recommended this tea to me and I have high hopes it will help me out!
Any comments, suggestions or advice in regards to successful nursing would be great.

I just sent you a long e-mail on the "Boob" topic. :)

Oh boy. I've had struggles. Although mine were more of the pain variety. I never had a vast supply but it seemed to be enough although with Owen I did supplement but not too much. It's so hard because there just is no right or wrong thing to do but I understand your desire to succeed - maybe this time will be different? I'm sorry that I have no advice but I have heard of a tea that is supposed to help - have you asked your doc at all?

Wish I could help you out but I bottle-fed both of our girls. Hope everything works out to your satisfaction.

Are you familiar with
the La Leche League? They meet at Northview Church the third Thursday of the month. The leader is Catherine at 859-1797

Drink LOTS of water and eat lots while nursing . . . and the more you let them nurse, supposedly the more milk your body will then produce. I think I had just enough milk for my babies, but as soon as I started supplementing around 7 or 8 months, my supply dwindled (law of supply and demand) and so I had to use formula all the time until they were 1 year old. I liked saving money with nursing, but I was also glad to have my body back when they stopped :)

I didn't have any milk supply issues but did have to work through some painful cracks. Ouch!! I'd really recommend the La Leche league too. They're a wealth of knowledge on all the tricks to help. I loved nursing :)

My 10 and a half pound baby never had enought to eat the first few weeks...so we supplemented after i filled her with what I had and i would try to pump in between or pump the other side if she ever just drank one side...the more you put out the more your body makes and yes drink tons of water or juice or whatever you like...and don't overdo it when recovering from your section...that is the only advice I have:) I will be praying for you and your boobs:)
