Rats!

So this past weekend I realized that we had run out of bread.  I thought it would be easy to just whip up a loaf in my breadmaker.  I don't often make bread in the machine.  I mostly use the dough setting and make buns.
As you can see it was a dismal failure.  I followed the recipe to a tee!  Very frustrating and yet rather amusing.
I hate wasting good ingredients...shouldn't this sort of thing be fool-proof?!

I have never had success with actual bread. My sister used to set hers so that a fresh loaf would be waiting for them each morning. I will get the recipe from her. I know that she tweaked hers quite a bit. Darn. What a waste of effort. :(

Where's the rest of it??
Gail uses hers every couple days and makes fantastic bread but I think it has been mostly trial and error.

The rest of it? It was hollow. I know...I can achieve the impossible.

Oh that is so sad! I hate wasting ingredients too. Can you dry it out and grind it up to use as bread crumbs?

And hollow... wow. That takes talent! You should be proud. ;)

I threw it away. I suppose if I had a dog he could have gnawed on it :)

Something similar happened to me! My first few loaves were perfect then they started coming out a little like that. Nothing had changed. I kept following the recipe the same, same ingredients. I gave up! LOL :)

I would have still eaten it. It looks yummy even though half of it is missing.

Looks like a rat chewed on your beef roast.
